Privacy Policy

1. About this policy

CAM WORLD is a camera app developed by Jocelyn. This policy explains how the app and this website handle information. It applies to the Android application com.camworld.camera.

You do not need a CAM WORLD account. The app offers local camera effects and a local photo collection, with an optional Camera Pack purchase through Google Play.

2. Camera access and your photos

With your permission, CAM WORLD accesses the camera to show a viewfinder and take photographs. Preview frames and captured images are processed on your device to apply the selected camera look. We do not operate a server that receives your camera feed or automatically uploads your photographs.

The app does not request microphone, contacts or location permission. It does not use location services to geotag photos. You can revoke camera permission in Android Settings; taking new photos will then be unavailable.

3. Information stored on your device

• Temporary photos: intermediate capture files and result previews are kept in app storage while you take, process, retake, save or share a photo.
• Saved photos: when you choose Save, a JPEG is written to Pictures/CAM WORLD in your device photo library.
• Rolls metadata: the app stores each saved photo’s identifier, local media URI, camera profile and capture time to organize your collection.
• Purchase status: a local flag remembers whether the Camera Pack is unlocked. The app checks the current entitlement with Google Play.

The current app has no advertising SDK, analytics SDK or developer-operated cloud photo storage. It does not request broad access to your existing photo library.

4. Optional Google Play purchases

TOKYO, SEOUL and DV are offered together as a one-time Camera Pack purchase. If you purchase or restore this pack, Google Play handles payment, purchase records and related service processing under its own terms and privacy policy.

The app receives product and purchase information, including the product identifier, purchase state and purchase token, to check and acknowledge the purchase and enable the cameras. It does not receive your payment card number or send your purchase token to a developer-operated backend. Google may process account, transaction and technical information to provide its services.

See the Google Privacy Policy. Google controls the retention of its payment and purchase records. Removing CAM WORLD does not delete your Google Play purchase history.

5. Sharing you choose

Photos leave the app when you choose Share and select a destination in the Android share sheet. The app grants the selected destination access to that photo. The recipient app or service handles the shared copy under its own privacy practices.

CAM WORLD does not automatically post to social networks or sell your photographs or other personal information. A gallery or backup service that you separately enable on your device may back up saved photos independently of CAM WORLD.

6. Retention, deletion and control

Temporary capture files are removed during normal completion or retake flows. Android may also remove cached files. Saved photos stay in your device photo library until you delete them.

• Open a photo in Rolls, choose Delete and confirm to remove it from both CAM WORLD and the device photo library.
• Delete a saved photo in your system gallery to remove that copy. The app cleans up missing-photo records when refreshing Rolls.
• Clear app storage or uninstall to remove app-private records and cached purchase status. Saved gallery photos can remain; delete them separately if you want to remove them.
• Copies already shared with another app, person or backup service must be managed there.

CAM WORLD has no app account to delete and no developer-hosted photo archive. Purchase restoration is handled through Google Play.

7. Security

The app uses Android app-private storage for its internal records, Android’s media APIs for saved photos, and scoped sharing permissions for selected photos. Android cloud backup is disabled for app-private data. Device migration behavior may also depend on the device manufacturer.

Keep your device and operating system secure. No device or service can guarantee absolute security. We do not describe locally saved JPEGs as separately encrypted by CAM WORLD.

8. When you contact us

If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include. We use that correspondence to answer questions, resolve support requests and handle privacy inquiries. Do not include photos or sensitive information unless needed for your request.

Support messages are handled through our email provider and retained only as long as reasonably needed for the request, legitimate recordkeeping or legal obligations. You may ask us to delete correspondence; we will explain if we need to retain anything for those purposes.

9. This website and other services

This policy website does not set analytics cookies, load advertising, use tracking scripts or request camera access. Fonts, styles and brand images are served locally from this site.

The website is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub states that it logs visitor IP addresses for security purposes, including for visitors who are not signed in. Hosting data is subject to the GitHub Privacy Statement. External links and your email provider have their own data practices.

10. Privacy questions and updates

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, restrict or object to certain uses, or make a complaint to a privacy regulator. Contact us to make a request concerning information we hold, such as support correspondence. We cannot remotely access or delete photos stored only on your device.

We do not knowingly request children’s personal information through the app. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us, contact us so we can review and address it.

We may update this policy when app features or data practices change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated as required.
