DAYFRAME · YOUR EVERYDAY, KEPT CLOSE

Privacy Policy

Your memories belong with you.

Dayframe is a personal photo diary. Your selected photos, notes and memories are processed on your device. We do not run a server to receive them.

About this policy

This policy describes how Dayframe for Android, developed by Jocelyn, handles information when you use the app, visit this policy website or contact us. Dayframe has no login, account system, developer-operated cloud sync, advertising SDK or analytics SDK. We do not sell your personal information or use your photos for advertising or AI training.

Photos and information you choose

Dayframe uses the Android system photo picker to access images you select. It copies selected images into app-controlled storage to create your diary, thumbnails, calendar, widgets and posters. It does not request access to your entire photo library, contacts, microphone or device location.

The app reads image orientation and, when available, the original capture time. The capture time may be retained with your memory. Stored image copies are re-encoded without the source image’s GPS metadata, camera serial numbers and other embedded metadata. Original gallery images are not changed or deleted.

Memory dates, notes, crop choices, local file references, creation and update times, display preferences, reminder settings and feature-access status are stored locally to provide the features you select.

Local storage and security

App data is kept in Android app-controlled storage. Android’s app sandbox restricts other apps’ access; Dayframe does not add a separate password or encryption layer. Protect your device with a screen lock and use apps you trust.

Automatic cloud backup and device transfer of Dayframe app data are disabled in the app configuration. We do not receive a copy of your diary and cannot recover memories deleted from your device. Your original gallery photos and exported files may separately be backed up by your device or other services according to your settings.

Home-screen widgets

When you add a Dayframe widget, photo thumbnails, dates and display information are provided to Android’s widget system and your selected home-screen launcher so it can display them. This is on-device processing and is not a photo upload to us. Anyone who can see your home screen may see the widget’s content. You can remove widgets through your launcher.

Saving and sharing

Dayframe shares content only when you choose to share it. It creates a temporary copy and grants the app you select access through Android’s sharing system. The receiving app or service handles that content under its own privacy policy, and may upload it if you ask it to do so.

Saving a poster creates an image in Pictures/Dayframe through Android’s media storage. Exported images, original gallery files and copies held by receiving apps remain outside Dayframe’s private diary storage; deleting a memory or uninstalling Dayframe does not delete those copies.

Google Play purchases

Dayframe Pro is an optional one-time purchase, not a subscription. Google Play handles checkout and payment information. Dayframe uses Google Play Billing to obtain product information, query purchase status, acknowledge purchases using a purchase token and restore access. It keeps an on-device entitlement cache for offline use. We do not receive your payment-card details or operate a purchase-validation server.

Google may process transaction, account and service information under its own privacy policy. Google Play purchase records are managed by Google and are not erased when you delete local Dayframe data. See Google’s Privacy Policy.

Permissions and reminders

Reminders are optional and off by default. On Android versions that require it, notification permission is requested when you enable reminders. You can disable reminders in Dayframe or revoke notifications in Android settings. Background tasks update widgets and reminders; the core diary and viewing features work offline. Google Play purchase and restore functions may require a connection.

Retention and deletion

Saved memories remain on your device until you delete them, clear Dayframe’s app storage or uninstall it. To delete one memory, open it from the calendar and use Delete. To remove all private app data, use Android Settings → Apps → Dayframe → Storage → Clear storage, or uninstall Dayframe. Android menu names vary by device. There is no Dayframe account to delete.

Temporary import, poster and sharing files may remain in the app cache. Files older than about 24 hours are eligible for cleanup when the corresponding cleanup routine next runs; this is not a guaranteed deletion timer. Clearing app storage or uninstalling removes app-controlled cached files. Remove saved posters, original photos or shared copies separately in the relevant gallery, file manager or receiving service.

We cannot remotely access or delete your on-device memories. If you have contacted support, you can ask us to correct or delete information you sent us. We retain support correspondence only as needed to handle the request, resolve related issues or meet applicable legal requirements.

We do not ask for your age or collect children’s information through an account system; contact us if a child has sent us personal information so we can address it.

We may update this policy when the app or its data practices change. The current policy and its effective date will be published here. Where required, material changes will also be explained in the app before the relevant processing begins.
